Before You Start — Phone Number Requirement

Whichever method you choose, there is one essential condition the phone number must meet:

The number must not be registered on the standard WhatsApp app previously. You can use any number you own — a brand new number, or a number already registered to a WhatsApp Business Account — provided this number is not currently linked to the standard WhatsApp app on a mobile device. The system works exclusively via API, which requires the number to be "clean" and not in use within the WhatsApp app itself.

If the number you want to use is already registered in the WhatsApp app on your phone, you will either need to use another number or deregister it from the standard app first before connecting it to ZakiPost.

The recommended method for most users. It relies entirely on logging in via Facebook without needing to create any app or handle any API keys yourself.

Go to the Platforms Settings page and click on the WhatsApp card.
Click the "Connect with WhatsApp" button appearing at the top of the window.
Log in with the Facebook account linked to your WhatsApp Business account, and grant the requested permissions when prompted.
Choose the phone number you want to connect — a brand new number, or a number previously registered on a WhatsApp Business account and not used in the standard WhatsApp app.
Once the steps are completed, the system automatically redirects you back to ZakiPost, and the number is connected and ready for immediate use.

Manual Connection via API

🔧 For technical users

A dedicated alternative for those who already have their own Developer App on Facebook, or prefer full control over connection settings themselves. This method relies on entering your app data into ZakiPost, and adjusting some links on Facebook's side to route data correctly.

📝 Manual Connection Steps

From the WhatsApp settings window in ZakiPost, click "Manual Setup (Enter API Keys)" to switch from quick connection mode.
Enter your app data from the Facebook Developer Portal: App ID and its associated keys.
Configure the Redirect URI and Webhook link from within your app settings in the developer portal — full details in the next section.
Save the data in ZakiPost. Once saved, you can choose a new phone number or connect an existing one directly from the dashboard without needing to return to Facebook.

Required Setup Links

When choosing manual connection, the following two links must be configured from within your app settings in the Facebook Developer Portal (Meta for Developers), under the app's WhatsApp section:

This is the link Facebook redirects the user to after completing the login process and granting permissions. Copy it and place it in the Redirect URI field in your app settings:

This is the link Facebook sends real-time notifications to for every new message or event related to your number (incoming messages, message status updates, etc.) so ZakiPost can receive and process them in real-time. Place it in the Webhook URL field:

Required Permissions

To complete the manual connection setup successfully, your app on the Facebook Developer Portal needs only four permissions enabled — no other permissions are required:

`whatsapp_business_messaging`	Sending and receiving WhatsApp messages — the backbone of all conversation operations.
`whatsapp_business_management`	Manage WhatsApp Business account settings, including templates and number details.
`whatsapp_business_manage_events`	Manage events and notifications related to account activity.

Failing to enable any of these four permissions in your app may prevent certain features from working, such as sending templates or receiving specific types of events. Ensure they are all enabled before completing the manual connection.

Editing Number Details After Connection

After successfully connecting your number, you may later wish to edit the display name, profile picture, bio, or any of your WhatsApp business profile details. This editing is not done within ZakiPost, but rather from the official WhatsApp Manager dashboard on Facebook:
